World renowned pianists Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi headline the program performing 4-hand stride and ragtime piano. Recipients of the Glenn Jenks’ “Future in Music” Prize : Owen Kennedy, fiddle and Mavy Le, violin will also offer their award-winning talents. This year’s Ragtime Revue features the classical ragtime works of Jenks. The Halcyon String Quartet will perform selections from his “String Quartet in Ragtime”; and soprano Erin Chenard, baritone David Myers, Jr. and the Ragtime Revue Chorus will present selections from Scott Joplin’s opera “Treemonisha”.
Special guest, ragtime historian and scholar, author Edward Berlin will receive the Glenn Jenks Ragtime Emeritus Award. Berlin will also present a pre-concert lecture about the life and times of Scott Joplin. Award-winning children's book author, Stephen Costanza, will be on hand to sign his latest book: "King of Ragtime - The Story of Scott Joplin."
