Kongero in Concert

Kongero, the internationally acclaimed Swedish Folk’apella ensemble, returns to Maine this December with two concerts and a vocal workshop. Known for their rich harmonies and dynamic storytelling, Kongero brings traditional Swedish folk songs to life through inventive a cappella arrangements. Their performances are both soulful and electrifying, blending love ballads, medieval tales, and playful dance tunes.

The tour begins at the Rockport Opera House on Friday, December 19, with a 7:00p concert (6 Central Street, Rockport, ME).

Formed in 2005, Kongero’s four remarkable singers—Lotta Andersson, Emma Björling, Sofia Hultqvist Kott, and Anna Wikénius—have performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Their genre, Swedish Folk’apella, fuses the roots of Nordic folk with contemporary a cappella artistry.
